President Akufo-Addo Commissions GA East District Hospital

President, Akufo-Addo commissioned the 100-bed Ga-East District Hospital on Nov 6, 2019. The construction of the GA East District Hospital started under the administration of former President, John Mahama in 2015. This is a commendable step taken by the Akufo-Addo government, which will improve the lives of many Ghanaian citizens.

This new Hospital facility is a result of the “Ghana Hospital Project” which began in 2008, and it constitutes the construction and equipping of one (1) Military Hospital, two Regional Hospitals, and six District Hospitals in Ghana, at a project cost of US$339 million, and will deliver 810 beds.

The Ga-East Hospital is the second hospital commissioned under the Akufo-Addo administration Following the “Ghana Hospital Project”. The first opening of the upper West Regional hospital in WA opened on August 18, 2019. 

The hospital is fully equipped with top-notch medical equipment. The ultra-modern hospital consists of various medical facilities, such as Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Emergency, Laboratory, Surgical ward, radiology department, OBS, and Administration, etc.

EUROGET S.A of Egypt executed the 100-bed Hospital project. President Akufo- Addo also took the time to praise EUROGET for completing the hospital project before the target date. 

This project aims to provide Ghanaian citizens with adequate healthcare facilities. This is part of President Akufo-Addo’s initiatives to improve healthcare access in Ghana. Furthermore, he also talked about his plans for leveraging the use of technology in healthcare. In this way, Ghanaians will have advanced healthcare access.
