Apple is tracking looters who steal iPhones

by The Ghana HIT

There has been massive looting in the US as protests of the murder of George Floyd continue. However, Apple is giving looters sleepless nights since it has been tracking all the stolen iPhones. According to reports in the US the giant company is tracking, disabling, and notifying local authorities.

All iPhones on display in stores have software that helps tracking them if stolen. The current riots have forced Apple to close some of its stores. The tracked iPhones display messages on the screen. In one shared message on Twitter, the display noted that: “Please return to Apple Walnut Street. This device has been disabled and is being tracked. Locked authorities will be alerted.”
