Fire burns down Electoral Commission office in Accra

An Electoral Commission office in Accra has been brought down by the fire. The fire is said to have started in the early hours of Friday the 14th of Aug 2020. Reports indicate that firefighters had a very hard time bringing the fire into control.

Despite the fire, the police indicated that it has not affected the current voter registration in the country. However, the fire is said to have destroyed a huge number of ballot boxes. The exact extent of damage has however not been assessed by the commission yet.
