Ghanaian President Akufo-Addo has announced that health workers’ salaries will not be taxed for the next three months. In addition to that, he added a 50% allowance for frontline health workers who are dealing with COVID-19.

The president made the announcements while addressing the country on the government’s preparedness on dealing with coronavirus.

Ghana currently has 214 coronavirus cases with total deaths still at 5. To curb the spread the government has closed its borders and placed a stay home order on its major towns Accra, Kumasi, and Tema.
