Ghana’s passport office has been closed down

Passport Office in Accra Ghana was closed on Tuesday leaving thousands of applicants stranded. The closure came as a result of a directive by the president ordering the stop of large gatherings as well as the closure of all schools.

Ghana reported its first case of COVID 19 las week and since then 6 positive cases have been reported. The government has tracked down and traced 181 contacts and all the people have been quarantined. People with symptoms of the virus have also been advised to self-quarantine to reduce the chances of spreading the virus.

More countries in Africa including Tanzania and Somalia have recorded their first cases.
