Meet Charlotte Mensah, a British Hall of Fame Inductee and Natural Hair Activist

Charlotte Mensah is an Award-winning hairstylist, owner and artistic director of the Hair Lounge salon, founder of the Charlotte Mensah Manketti Oil products. 

Mensah became the first black woman to be admitted into the British Hairdressing Awards Hall Of Fame in November 2018. The selection came after she was awarded UK’s best Afro Hairdresser of the Year at the British Hairdressing Awards in 2013, 2014 and 2017.

Mensah is a British born Ghanaian hairdresser, and an Influencer to stylists, business owners, and women worldwide. Her extraordinary talent has made her a well-known face at industry events and award ceremonies. Charlotte trained at the London College of Fashion in the late 80’s developing her profession under the leadership of the late Winston Isaacs, ‘The Godfather of British Afro Hairdressing’. 

She is a huge advocate for community and charity work. She established the Charlotte Mensah Academy. Holding workshops to pass on her knowledge to young individuals in Ghana, empowering them to build better lives for themselves and their families. Additionally, set up a charity, L.O.V.E. (Ladies of Visionary Empowerment), aimed at facilitating education opportunities for young women in Africa.
