Parliament wants minimum academic qualifications set for MPs

Parliament is now demanding academic qualifications from political parties form for candidates vying for the next elections saying that the quality of MPs has been low. Parliament wants political parties to have minimum academic entry requirements for members to be given parliamentary tickets.

Inusah Fuseini who is a member of the Constitutional, Legal, and Parliamentary Affairs said that political parties allowing everyone to vie were populating the chamber with MPs of low quality. He argued that political parties had to set minimum academic qualifications to improve the quality of the MPs.
