by The Ghana HIT

Ghana’s Police Hospital has said that it will have a mass burial for all unidentified bodies within the next two weeks if the bodies are not identified and picked. The move is aimed at decongesting the police mortuary at the Accra Hospital.

In a statement, they noted that they were going to allow people families to pick bodies of their relatives and organize private burials for them. In Ghana, funerals are supposed to have less than 25 people at the moment to avoid the spread of COVID-19.

According to the statement from the police: “The Ghana Police Hospital will embark on a mass burial of some unclaimed and unidentified bodies to decongest the hospital mortuary in fourteen (14) days from the dissemination of this information.”
