Presidency denies flying President Akufo-Addo to the UK for coronavirus treatment

by The Ghana HIT

The presidency has denied claims that it has flown President Akufo-Addo to the UK for coronavirus treatment. A communication from the Director of communication at the presidency Eugene Arhin said that the president had not traveled. He added that the president was in isolation at the Jubilee House. The president went into Isolation on the 4th of July after he interacted with a person who later tested positive for coronavirus.

In a Facebook post, Eugene Arhin noted that: “Kindly disregard the false story published by the Herald Newspaper to the effect that the President was on Saturday “flown out of the country to London for COVID-19 treatment”. It is clearly a figment of the author’s imagination.

“The President is in the country, and he’s currently at the Presidential Villa in Jubilee House, observing the 14-day self-isolation precautionary measure, in compliance with COVID-19 protocols.”
