President Nana-Addo has commissioned an 85-bed hospital Gonja District Hospital in the Savannah Region. The commissioning was part of the president’s 2-day visit to the Savannah Region. Prior construction of the hospital, people were relying on the Tamale Teaching Hospital which is far. During the opening of the hospital, the president was hopeful that the hospital would improve the health needs of the people in that area.
The construction of the Gonja District hospital along with 5 others started in 2018 after the government secured a loan of 80 million euros from the Raiffeisen Bank of Australia.
