Tarique Fosu aims at assisting Ghana to end the AFCON trophy drought

Ghana winger Tarique Fosu has disclosed that his greatest goal is to assist the Black Stars to end their long wait for an AFCON trophy. Last Month during a friendly game against Mali, Fosu who is born in England got his first cap. Besides, he has been featured in 4 more games including the AFCON qualifiers against Sudan. He just joined the team and his performance is impressive by coach C.K Akonnor.

Speaking during an interview Fosu said, “I think it was great to get the chance to play for Ghana”. “My debut delayed a bit because of COVID-19 but when the call came for me to travel to Turkey to play in the International friendly, I was very happy.”

“It came in quite late but when the coach called me to come, I said I was very happy to come and I spoke to him before and I’m happy that he gave me the chance to perform and show my qualities.”
When Black stars get one point, they will have qualified for the next AFCON In Cameroon. He has confidence that Ghana will qualify for the 2022 competition, but his greatest objective is to emerge victoriously.

“I want to win trophies, bring trophies back home, and try to help the team as much as possible to bring a trophy to people back home,” said Fosu.
