The Customs Division of Ghana has begun training more than 250 airport staffs. The main agenda of this training is to enhance the operations at the Kotoko International Airport.
The senior Revenue officer in charge of Communications and Public affairs at the airport said that this training will equip the staff with important skills of examining goods any luggage that goes through the airport. According to the officer, the staff will be taught about Scanning and image analysis, radiation protection and nuclear security.
“We are able to look through, we are able to exactitude when we are doing examination now since the number of scanners in the country has increased. So, it is not a new system we are introducing, it is a wave that is an enrichment of customs processes all around the world. The use of Artificial intelligence to enhance efficiency and once this is happening as I said from beginning, the customs officer wouldn’t waste time, it is also not going to waste the time of any person carrying any merchandise on him.” He stated.
