The government of Ghana has announced free food for over 400,000 citizens

The Ghanaian government has announced the distribution of free food to more than 400,000 citizens during the lockdown. The announcement was made the President Akufo-Addo while updating the public on the measures the government is taking in the fight against coronavirus.

The president acknowledged the hardships citizens are going through during this period adding that there was a need to distribute food. The food distribution will mainly target the poor to keep them at home to reduce the chances of spreading the virus. Ghana is currently one of the most affected countries in Africa with more than 300 cases of COVI-19.
