Two Ghanaian Boxers have qualified for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo Japan

by The Ghana HIT

Two Ghanaian Boxers will now represent Ghana in the upcoming Olympic Games in Japan. The two, Suleman Tette who is a flyweight boxer and Samuel Takyi who is a featherweight boxer, booked their places after wins at the African Boxing Qualifiers held in Senegal on Monday.

This is a massive improvement for the Ghana boxing team who had only one boxer in the last Olympics. In addition, Ghana has a chance of securing more slots since those who did not qualify yesterday in Senegal have another chance to prove themselves in a qualifier that will be held in Paris, France in May this year.

Olympics 2020 in Japan is facing some uncertainties with the massive scare of the CoronaVirus. Japan is the second most impacted country and if a solution is not found before the start of the Olympics then all games may be played indoors or the entire competition may be postponed.
