Five people dead at Okaikoi North in Tuesday’s heavy rain

by The Ghana HIT

Five people lost their lives in Okaikoi North as a result of Tuesday’s heavy downpour. The five included a baby. 300 people from the constituency have also been displaced with property worth millions destroyed.

Okaikoi North MP Fuseini Issah said that the floods were caused by blocked waterways. According to him, the waterways were blocked by squatters and poor disposal of waste. He asked people to desist from throwing garbage to the water path to ensure that there is a free flow of water.

The bodies of the five people are currently at the Lapaz Community Hospital and Achimota Hospital Morgue.
