Ghana to the world: Sister Derby Lands another International Accolade

by Ghana HIT

If you saw Sister Derby’s performance on her debut film, 14: 32 back in 2015, you could tell she was destined for bigger things.

Sister Derby (born Deborah Vanessa Owusu-Bonsu) is a natural-born actress who fits into roles effortlessly and also has the looks. She recently announced that she landed another international role in a Netflix-distributed film, which marks an important milestone in her career.

Her successful 7-year career is in tandem with the steady growth of Ghallywood. There are many other success stories from Ghallywood, and with a little more investment from the government and other stakeholders, the industry should grow several folds in the coming years.

If properly tapped, the film industry can be an even more significant foreign income earner for Ghana.
