Ghanaian former President John Mahama has praised the current president Akufo-Addo for extending lockdown in the most affected area. Akufo-Addo has extended lockdown in Tema, Accra, Kumasi, and Kasoa. Mahama in his statement thanked Akuffo for taking the bold step to extend the lockdown.
According to Mahama: “We must help our security personnel to enforce the directives and ensure that movement during this period is minimized to stop the spread of the virus.”
Coronavirus cases in Ghana have been on the rise. Ghana currently has 636 cases with 8 deaths. Akufo-Addo announced that lockdown will remain in place so that until coronavirus is contained.
