by The Ghana HIT

President Akufo-Addo has extended the closure of all borders in Ghana for one month. The president made the announcement during the Labor Day celebration at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation. The president added that social gatherings will remain illegal while schools will remain closed until COVID-19 is fully controlled.

President Akufo-Addo noted that most of the cases in Ghana came from travelers or travelers’ contacts and therefore it was necessary to keep the borders closed. The president in his speech: “We know that the overwhelming majority of positive cases came from travelers or contacts of travelers, so, we have no option than to keep our borders closed until we are confident that we have put in place measures to prevent travelers from importing the virus.”
