There were rumors in Ghana that president Akufo-Addo had tested positive of coronavirus. Minister of Information refuted the rumors and warned the public against spreading false information about the president.
The minister went ahead to say that the government will arrest those spreading false information. He urged social media users to only share relevant information that can help curb the spread of the virus. According to the Minister:
“We will like to encourage that if you have access to a platform, use it to encourage compliance with preventive etiquettes so that we can save as many lives as possible.”
In other news, the Ghanaian government has confirmed that three citizens have died of the virus. According to the report, two were based in Italy and one in Denmark.
