Nadia Mashoud Chelpang the 2020 Spelling Bee Winner

Nadia Chelpang Mashoud won the 2020 Spelling Bee Contest. 

She surpassed more than 150 other contestants to emerge victorious in the spelling drill.

Nadia Mashoud Chelpang from Alhassan Gbanzaba Memorial School will lead Ghana at the 93rd Scripts Spelling Bee contest. She is the first person to win the competition from the Northern Region, Tamale. 

Ms. Cehlpang walked away with GHS4000 prize money, an engraved golden trophy a DSTV decoder plus one-year subscription, and a GHS 1,000 book gift voucher, an appreciation award, among other gifts from sponsors.

The finale was conducted on Saturday, February 1st, 2020, at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Great Hall.

She now takes over as the reigning Spelling Bee Champion from 2019 champion, Kwabena Adu Darko-Asare. Aku-Mishee Araba Allotey from The University of Ghana Basic School’s won 2nd place, while  Joel Ato Kwamena Ahin Dennis from Victoria Grammar School took the third position.
