Ghana finished in position ten on the African Medal Table at Tokyo Olympics Games. Besides, the team was in position 86 Globally. Samuel Takyi is the only Ghanaian who won a medal in Tokyo Olympics 2020. The Boxer won a bronze medal for the first time in 29 years.
Team Ghana was represented in Athletics, Boxing, Judo, Swimming and weightlifting. The Ghanaian Olympic Board and the other heads in the sporting federation were hoping that the team will secure more medals but their efforts did not bear fruits. Kenya was the leading country in Africa with the highest medal haul, bagging 10 medals, followed by Uganda and South Africa.
