The Republic of Ghana has selected the fuel-efficient 787-9 Dreamliner to re-launch its airline.

Ghana plans to purchase three 787-9 airplanes with a price tag of $877.5 Million. A Letter of intent was signed during the Dubai Airshow on November 19th, 2019.

The 787 holds an excellent reputation for its operational performance, fuel efficiency, and passenger experience.

The 787-9 is part of a family of three airplanes that allow long ranges and unmatched fuel efficiency in the 200 to 350 seat market. The 787-9 has a capacity of 296 passengers and can fly up to 7,530 nautical miles (13,950 km) while decreasing combustible use and emissions from 25% to 20% compared to older aircraft.

Joseph Kofi Adda, Honorable Minister of Aviation and Member of Parliament, Republic of Ghana stated,

“There is a growing demand for air travel to and from Ghana and we believe the advanced 787-9 Dreamliner gives us an efficient and flexible machine to launch a regional network and eventually serve international destinations in the future.”
