Newly-constructed railway washed away by floods

by The Ghana HIT

Some parts of the newly constructed railway at the Accra-Nsawam line have been washed away by floods. Reports indicate that the floodwaters washed sections at Achimota-Abofo. The lanes are barely 6 months old and the floods have left the Ghana Railway Company counting losses.

The construction of the railway was meant to facelift and revive operations in some of the most used lines in Accra. Engineers from the Ghana Railway Company have visited the sites to assess the damage and try fixing the destroyed parts.
