Nungua residents accuse the military of assault and brutality

Residents of Nungua are accusing the military of assault. The residents claim that they were attacked by the military evicting them forcefully from their homes. The land in question is government land which the government had set aside for an animal husbandry project.

Nungua people however claim that the land was theirs and that they have a case in court demanding that the government return’s their land. The resident through their spokesperson Fredrick Okley Ashong requested President Akufo-Addo to look into the matter. He said that the population of the Nungua people was first rising and that their children need land to settle on.
