On Wednesday,4th November 2020, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, gave a direction that no student should be sacked from school due to PTA arrears. He said this during the opening of a 450-bed capacity boys dormitory block at Fomena TI Ahmadiyya Senior High School.
He warned all headmaster not to prevent students from enjoying the government’s free Senior High School policy or else they will be sacked. He claimed that the government has catered for student’s uniforms, textbooks, exam fees, revision notes, and other dues under the free SHS policy.
Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh said that in case any headmaster or headmistress prevents their wards from schooling due to their failure to pay PTA dues, parents should report to his office. He said that President Akufo-Addo cares for the people of Ghana, and therefore he has introduced the free SHS to take care of students.
