The Central Bank of Ghana has given a list of the recommended electronic money issuers and payment service providers.

A list of the approved regulated companies which should work as electronic money issuers and payment service providers while transacting has been given. Among the 26 companies, five of them are electronics money issuers while the remaining 21 companies are payment service providers.

Following the passage of the payment system and services Act, 2019 (987), according to the licensing application pack for payment service providers.

According to the report, the Act changed and accepted the laws related to payment systems, payment services, and institutions’ regulations. The laws are related to the payment service and electronic money business and related issues.
The Ghanaian Central Bank stated that the listed companies have already been approved to do business with the public.

The dedicated electronics money issuers include:

b)GCB G-money
c)Yup Ghana Limited
d) Vodafone Mobile financial services limited
e)Zeepay Ghana Limited

Payment service providers include

5) Emergent Payments Ghana Limited
6) Etranzact Limited
7) Expresspay Ghana Limited
