3. The Mole National Park
Mole National Park is located in Northern Ghana, the largest national park in the country. The park covers approximately 4,577 square kilometers in the district of West Gonja and is home to various animal species, including mammals and birds. It is home to approximately 600 elephants, 2,000 roam antelopes, 3,000 hartebeests, 4,000 waterbucks, 5,000 buffalo and 6,000 warthogs that roam freely in the park’s grasslands. There are lions, leopards, hyenas and various primates that can also be seen in Mole. 4. Cape Coast Castle
It was built by various European powers during the 17th Century for the slave trade and is one of the most attractive of Ghana’s old forts. It was originally built by the Dutch in 1637, later expanded by the Swedes, and finally, the British took control of it in 1664 and turned it into their colonial headquarters. It remained in that status for around 200 years until they moved the capital to Accra in 1877. It has been designated as a World Heritage Monument by the World Heritage Foundation.
