Universities reopen today after 3-month closure

All universities in Ghana are resuming their academic work today 15th June 2020. The universities were closed in March after Ghana recorded its first cases of COVI-19. However, on 31 May 2020, President Akufo-Addo announced that there will be a partial opening to allow final year students to conclude their lectures and sit their final exams.

The opening date was agreed to be today and the Chairman of Vice-Chancellors in Ghana Prof. Ebenezer Oduro held a meeting with the president to brief him on the progress. The government has also distributed protective gear to ensure that students are well protected as they resume their studies.
