Speaking during his 18th address on the State of the Nation on the 18th of October, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has confirmed that the Ghanaian economy has given a positive response by beginning to recover at a fast rate from the downfall caused by Covid-19. Akufo-Addo went a step further revealing that the information about the recovering of the Ghanaian economy was as per an assessment done by the Bank of Ghana concerning the Ghana economy.

“Business confidence has also increased, reflecting the improving macroeconomic conditions, stability in the exchange rate, lower input prices, moderation in lending rates, and positive industry prospects. Consumer spending, industrial consumption of electricity, and construction activities have all reached pre-lockdown levels, whilst tourist arrivals and port harbor activity are gradually edging upwards,” revealed Akufo-Addo.

The president however urged Ghanaians to strictly adhere to the Covid-19 health protocols in a bid to not only avoid the second wave of infections but also to achieve full recovery of the Ghanaian economy.
