Ghanaian government organizes a ceremony to honor George Floyd

The Ghanaian government has organized a ceremony to honor George Floyd who died in the hands of police in the United States. The ceremony was organized by the Office of Diaspora Affairs at the Presidency, the Diaspora African Forum and the Ministry of Tourism, Art and Culture.

The event was held on the 5th of June in front of the Diaspora African Forum at the Dubois Center. The event was shared on social media and was open to the public. All in attendance were however required to follow safety measures provided by the government such as wearing face masks.

George Floyd was murdered by a white police officer in the United States something which sparked protests all over.
