Ghanaian President Akuffo-Addo through his Chief of Staff Hon. Akosua Frema Osei-Opare has banned foreign travel for senior government officials. In a circular addressed to all Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Regional Ministers, Metropolitan executives and all Heads of Government Agencies Akosua stressed that only important foreign travels will be considered and approved.
In the circular Akosua stated that:
“As part of measures to prevent the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Ghana, His Excellency the President of the Republic has directed that all foreign travels by public officials/officers should be temporarily suspended. Only critical travels will be considered.”
“This directive together with other measures being put in place by Government is intended to protect the general public from contracting the virus.
