Reasons to attend the African Legends Night’s tenth Anniversary.

African Legends Night is an annual concert sponsored by the Ghana Tourism Authority, Beyond the Return, and media houses like Happy FM, Etv, Citi FM, YFM, Ghanaweb, Daily Guide, MX24, and many others. It is a major concert that appreciates and celebrates all African artists who have made history in the music industry so far. Speaking during the launch of African Legends Night, the CEO of Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Akwasi Agyeman, said that music tourism is a leading international trend where people move from one country to another for entertainment and cultural events. Akwasi revealed that the Ghana Tourism Authority had invented a policy that would advertise Ghana as the leading destination for music tourism, particularly in December. Besides, he applauded Global Media Alliance for hosting African Legends Night in December.

This concert has so far seen more than twenty stars and approximately fifty performances from famous African Musicians from several nations like Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, DR. Congo, Namibia, and Ivory Coast. Over the past years, African Legends Night has been an exciting event that attracts a large number of people from various regions of Africa. This will be the tenth-anniversary concert of African Legends Night, and you cannot afford to miss it because the event features celebrated stars like Samini, Rex Omar, Amakye Dede, and Efya. African Legends Night will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022, at the Grand Arena- Accra International Conference Centre from 6:00 pm till dawn.

So far, African Legends Night has acknowledged some renowned music legends from various African countries. These musicians include Nana Tuffuor, Ben Brako, Samini, Akosua Adjepong, Gyedu Blay Ambulley, Aka Blay, 2Face Idibia, Nat Brew, Amandzeba, Freddie Meiway, George Darko, Awilo Longomba, Offie Kudjo, Femi Kuti, Kanda Bongoman, Amakye Dede, Hugh Masekela, Kojo Antwi, Yvonne Chaka, and Daddy Lumba just mention a few. These legends have performed in significant shows and won several local and international awards. They have delivered outstanding performances that have stolen the hearts and minds of many people and created a huge fan base.

Hugh Masekela was the first-star artist for African Legends Night. Besides, he was the first act to do a nonstop performance the subsequent year. African Legends night was a female-dominated event. Yvonne Chaka Chaka banged the first female star for the African Legends Night in 2016. Other female artists performed that year were Wiyaala, Becca, eShun, and Akosua Agyapong. The 2019 concert was the first to attract foreign African musicians, Awilo Longomba and 2Face.

For the first time, the African Legends Night will be held in December as one of the ‘December in Ghana’ Events. It is meant to spice up the tenth-anniversary experience for Ghanaians and the Diaspora community. The other significant celebrations associated with African Legends Night include the creation of the African Legends Hall of Fame and the launching of the African Legends Digital Museum to document the acknowledgment of African music legends. This year’s African Legends Night Organizers is the Global Media Alliance, and they are doing everything to make this event a success.

Ernest Boateng, the CEO of Global Media Alliance, has revealed that this year’s legendary line-up for the concert will be special and involve some new activities. He insisted that this year’s event will be extremely great and will definitely promote the show to greater heights. During the media launch, Ernest Boateng said, “ten years of building a pan-African concert like African Legends Night goes to the core of our organization’s brand purpose of ‘Talk to Us, Talk to Africa.’ When the idea of African Legends Night was birthed, we had a plan of creating a premium Pan-African concert that truly celebrate music legends across the African continent.”
