The People of Ghana has buried their longest-serving Head of State Today.

Jerry John Rawlings, who died on November 12, 2020, and the longest-serving president, has been buried today at the Military Cemetery in Accra. The four-day burial rites involved a catholic Requiem mass and a vigil that was conducted on Sunday, January 24, 2020. During the second day, Jerry Rawling’s body was laid in state service at the Accra International Conference Centre by all leaders and the whole public.

The last burial ceremony was conducted at the Black Star Square in Accra. The citizens of Ghana were requested to follow the proceedings from home to limit the spread of the Corona Virus. President Akufo-Addo, his vice president, and other senior leaders were expected to attend Jerry Rawling’s burial.
